Family

The Lewis family is still very much in control of the day to day running of the business.  Their passion for their business is obvious for anyone to see when visiting the factory.  Their traditional family recipes are still used being adapted occasionally to meet the needs of the current market make.

Wilf and John joined the family business at a very young age gaining their experience in the workplace and at Bakery College.  They have a combined seventy years experience in the industry.  Wilf would spend early mornings with his father in the original bakery before going off to school.  He completed his bakery apprenticeship by working in the family business and in local specialist bakeries in Swansea. 

Wilf Lewis, Managing Director, is responsible for production, product development and oversees the general operation of the business.  His wife Pat, Company Secretary, undertakes an administrative role managing human resources and the development of internal management systems. 

John Lewis, Managing Director, is responsible for sales, marketing and customer care and in addition general management responsibilities.  Kim, John’s wife, is Technical Manager and ensures that the necessary food hygiene quality systems are in place, monitored and reviewed. 

Both Kim and Pat are registered with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and provide in house food hygiene training to Intermediate level.  They also offer this service externally to other businesses in the area.
