Louise's Blog

6 Months down the line after joining Lewis Pies as a KITE Affiliate with UWIC, leaving the fruit and veg behind for pies and pasties. I can say it has been the best move I have made, not too sure that’s true for the waistline though. In the short space of time that I have been here, I have seen dramatic changes to the factory, which is all for best, even could say it looks like a new place from the inside. We are constantly improving our quality systems to achieve a high quality final product.

What is the KITE programme?

The KITE programme is designed to:

  1. minimise disruption to the food business within Wales whilst optimising the potential for increased process control and maximising sales.
  2. focus on developing companies’ technical expertise over a medium to long term basis. This can be from as little as three months to two years.
  3. A varying range of subjects
  4. All programmes are goal managed and progress is monitored through a structured product management process over seen by a dedicated mentor, who also provides regular support to the candidate and business.
