💬 Case Study - Cutting Out Cardboard

From Boxes to Baskets – Over 11 Tonnes Saved Every Year

We have historically delivered pies in cardboard boxes, but many customers returned them after storing products in their fridges. Due to BRC standards, we couldn’t reuse the boxes — so they went to waste. THis really bothered our team, throwing away brand new boxes (the project arose from a staff suggestion). By reconfiguring our packing facility to handle reusable transport containers, we provided customers with durable baskets they can keep and reuse. Win win.

Now, we load pies into our baskets and transfer them directly into the customer’s baskets, removing the need for single-use boxes altogether.

Impact: Over 8 tonnes of cardboard eliminated annually.
